This was tattooed on the arm of a guy standing in front of me in the Whole Foods checkout line:

“He who spends time regretting the past loses the present and risks the future.”

I ended up driving in tandem with the guy down Six Forks Avenue, and as he turned left toward east Raleigh, I realized how much I liked the idea of that message making its way through the world on a bicep resting on the driver side door of a speedy car.
